Additional Elements
Quartz news has many different ways of reaching their audience. From twitter to Facebook to even an app there are many unique ways to stay updated with Quartz news.
- Quartz's use of the popular social media app Twitter is to reel in millennials by using witty article titles that will catch the young persons eye. Once the reader clicks on the article it redirects them straight to the Qz website in hopes of getting you to explore more. By advertising on twitter is heightens the chance of random viewers. With the ability to share, like, and re-tweet posts Qz doesn't have to do half as much of the work to get views. They also know that most millennials go onto twitter in their free time and out of boredom, so they know that someone might accidentally stumble across their post without even meaning to. Most of the posts from Qz are geared towards a younger audience so the tittles are often short and eye catching, such as "Read Donald Trump’s passive aggressive pink slip that fired FBI director James Comey". Paired with a picture this coupling would be more than enough to attract a curious looker.
- Their Facebook strategies are not much different except in the way that it targets older adults, not just young kids. Instead of using catchy tittles as on twitter, Facebook uses straight forward tittles such as, "President Donald Trump has fired FBI director James Comey." This tactic allows the reader to know exactly their opening, and not interpreting what it could be about, before being brought to the Qz page. In both cases post can be liked and shared thus increasing the amount of viewers without even trying.
- The Quartz app is the gem of their social media outreach. Having an easily accessible app right on your handheld devise is the perfect way to keep in touch on the go. Perfect for working businessmen or even parents on the move having the app on your phone ready to update you at any time is wonderful. When you open the app it is like a person is texting you. The app will offer you suggestions through what looks like a text stating, "Good evening, The Trump administration has fired FBI director James Comey, citing his mishandling of the bureaus investigation into Hillary Clinton emails", to which you can choose to reply with an emoji, meaning yes you would like to read more, or "Anything else". Having access to multiple different media outlets allows Quartz's news to be read and shared more easily and faster thanks to the speed and easy access of the internet.
